As I reflect on a recent evening walk with my young son at the Katara beach in Doha, Qatar, I am reminded of the power of love and acceptance in breaking down barriers and fostering world peace.

It was a typical winter evening in Qatar, with the sun setting as early as 5 pm. My son, dressed in his casual attire, was playing with the local children, who were dressed in traditional Qatari wear. Despite their differences, the two groups quickly formed a bond, and the children were soon inseparable, building sand castles, splashing water, and racing each other.

As I watched, I was struck by the ease with which the children interacted with each other, oblivious to their skin color, nationality, or social background. They were united by a common cause – the joy of playing together – and they dove into it without hesitation or concern for how they appeared to others.

As the evening drew to a close, the Arab boy's parents called him to leave, but he refused, insisting on finishing a new sand castle he had started with his new friends. His request was granted, and the three children continued to play until darkness fell.

As I stood there, I realized that world peace will only be achieved when we stop focusing on our differences and start building love and acceptance in the hearts of our children. It's a simple yet profound truth that has been lost in the complexities of adult life.

As I write this, I am reminded of the countless conventions and talks that have taken place in the name of world peace, but have yielded little tangible progress. Meanwhile, the solution lies in the simplest of things – teaching our children to love and accept each other, regardless of their background or circumstances.

It's a message that resonates deeply with me, and one that I hope will inspire others to take action. By building love and acceptance in the hearts of our children, we can create a world where everyone cares about each other subconsciously and unconditionally.
