December 10, 2019, marked a day of confusion for many Kenyans, who thought Airtel Kenya was ready to take on Safaricom's dominance by launching non-expiring data bundles.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Airtel Kenya has confirmed that they did not launch such bundles.
Our checks on the USSD code #BeSureNaAirtel revealed that the telco only launched new data prices, some of which are actually good deals, but nothing on bundles that don't expire.
A Twitter user asked Airtel Kenya about the so-called non-expiring bundles, but the telco is yet to respond.
However, they did respond to a comment on the post, stating, 'Hi Giddy, We do not have a no expiry bundle. However, with #BeSureNaAirtel, you get to browse at just 20 cents per MB (Ksh. 1 per 5MB's) which has no expiry. Simply dial 5442#’
The new data prices from Airtel are actually quite enticing for anyone who specifically does weekly, and monthly subscriptions—that's if you are in an area that the Telco network works with 21st-century speed.
