Sonko's Torn T-Shirt: A Pricey Lesson in Corruption Allegations

On December 10, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's week took a rough turn after DPP Noordin Haji ordered his arrest over corruption allegations.

Caught in Voi, a video obtained by Kiss100 showed an altercation between Sonko and the police officers who were there to take him to EACC in Nairobi.

As Sonko resisted arrest, he was forcefully taken into custody, resulting in torn clothes and scratches on his body.

Research revealed that Sonko was wearing a unique Versace T-shirt worth $531 (approximately Ksh53,100), a price tag that may be too steep for a garment that's now beyond repair.

The damage to the T-shirt is irreparable, rendering it unwearable even in Sonko's mansion.
