On November 12 and 17, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred at Thingingi village in Embu, Kenya, where a mother and her daughter allegedly assaulted the husband with a panga, causing him bodily harm.
According to reports, the husband, Lucas Ngoroi Boniface, a medical engineer at Embu Level Five Hospital, had visited his sick mother at Thingingi but decided to visit his son, a Form One student, who lives with his mother after the couple separated.
It is alleged that the two women attacked him with a panga as he tried to flee, leaving him with injuries that he reported at the nearest police station.
On Monday, December 9, 2019, Gauderncia Irima and Hilda Mukami Ngoroi appeared before Embu Senior Principal Magistrate Henry Nyakweba and denied the offense.
The two were charged with unlawfully assaulting Lucas Ngoroi Boniface occasioning bodily harm and were released on personal bond of Ksh. 10,000 each.
The case will be heard on April 20, 2020.
