Published on December 10, 2019, a former Egerton University student, Edmond Ruto, is seeking a plea bargain in a murder case.
Edmond Ruto, 24, is accused of killing his girlfriend, Cynthia Chalagat, on February 19, 2018, at Njokerio Estate in Njoro, Nakuru County.
According to a pre-bail report, Ruto had been living with Chalagat for four years and had planned to marry her.

Ruto’s lawyer, Paul Odhiambo, confirmed that they are in the process of seeking a plea bargain with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
‘We are in the process and will forward the documents to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions,’ Odhiambo said.
The case will be mentioned on February 17, 2020.
