On Monday morning, a piece of a Kenyan fighter jet fell from the skies in Matanya village, Nanyuki, leaving residents in a state of panic and concern.
The villagers gathered around the piece of glass, which resembled a car's windshield but was much more sophisticated, trying to figure out who owned it.
However, their question was soon answered when the Kenya Air Force, the owners of the 'windshield', later identified as a rear canopy of a fighter jet, arrived at the scene.
The military officials from the Rapid Deployment Squadron (RDS) unit were friendly and relieved to have retrieved their property, and they were soon on their way.
The rear canopy is the glass enclosure that protects the pilots from wind and other elements.
It is not known how the rear canopy became unattached from the fighter jet, which was manufactured in 2016 by California-based Merex Aircraft Company, Inc.
The fate of the pilot is also unknown, but it is assumed he made it back to base safely.
