On Sunday evening, William Makali Wamalwa, the son of former Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa, tragically lost his life after being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, who is also William's uncle, confirmed the news in a press conference on Monday, stating that the post-mortem examination will be conducted the following day.
According to CS Wamalwa, William was well on Saturday and had gone out with friends, but on Sunday evening, he was found unconscious in his house.
CS Wamalwa expressed the family's shock and sadness over the sudden loss, saying, "We are very saddened with the loss of our son."
He also thanked the doctors who tried to save William's life, stating, "As a family, we thank doctors who tried to save his life, but unfortunately, he died."
The burial arrangements have begun, with Robert Wamalwa, William's uncle, leading the committee. The family has asked the public to ignore social media propaganda suggesting that William died of depression, stating that they will provide a true report on the cause of his death after the post-mortem examination.
