Wazito FC's tumultuous season has taken another turn with the sacking of sporting director Solomon Alubala, a move confirmed by owner Ricardo Badoer on Twitter on the weekend of December 7-8, 2019.

According to Badoer, Alubala will step down as sporting director and treasurer, with all business negotiations to be handled by Badoer and CEO Dennis Gicheru.

"As of today, Solomon Alubala will step down as Sporting Director and Treasurer for Wazito FC. All business negotiations will be handled by me and Wazito CEO Dennis Gicheru. This is all part of our future plans and my vision of how a football team should run," wrote Badoer.

Alubala's departure marks the end of a relationship that began just 18 months prior, when he sold the club to Badoer.

Wazito FC has seen a string of sackings in recent months, including coaches Stanley Okumbi, Fred Ambani, Hamisi Mohammed, and Melis Medo.

Alubala's exit is reportedly linked to the heavy investment he oversaw at the start of the season, which has yielded little success. Despite spending over Sh10 million on player signings, Wazito FC has struggled in the league, currently sitting 13th in the 18-team standings with just two wins in 12 outings.
