Former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa's family is mourning the loss of their son, Robert Wamalwa, who passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at his home in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
According to his uncle, Robert was a second-year student at the University of Nairobi and was born into the Wamalwa family.
The family suspects that Robert's death may have been caused by diabetes, but they are waiting for the official postmortem report to confirm the cause of death.
Robert's uncle refuted claims on social media that he died of depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse, calling it 'far from the truth' and 'unfair'.
"My nephew was diabetic and that might have led to his death but, of course, when the official post-mortem report is out, we will know what happened," his uncle was quoted as saying.
"It is far from the truth. It is very unfair and people should not capitalise on something like that. They should respect the family and the dead," said Makali's uncle.
