Published on December 9, 2019, the Kenya rugby sevens team Shujaa will shift focus to the second leg of the 2019/2020 HSBC World Series – Cape Town Sevens – which takes place this weekend in Cape Town, South Africa.
Shujaa, coached by Paul Feeney, will face a tough challenge in Pool D alongside Ireland, Australia, and Samoa.
After a disastrous outing at the Dubai Sevens, where they won only one match against Scotland (26-14) in the 13th place playoff, Shujaa will look to bounce back in Cape Town.
Shujaa's campaign in Cape Town will start with a clash against Samoa at 5:59 pm on Friday, December 13, before playing two matches on Saturday, December 14, starting with Australia at 11:57 am and facing Ireland at 5:47 pm (EAT).
They are currently at number 13 in the overall HSBC standings after collecting four points in Dubai over the weekend.
The hosts and recently crowned Dubai champions South Africa are in Pool A with USA, Fiji, and Japan, while Pool B features New Zealand, Argentina, Canada, and Wales.
Shujaa's squad for Cape Town 7s includes Andrew Amonde, Jacob Ojee, Jeff Oluoch, Alvin Otieno, Nelson Oyoo, Vincent Onyala, Johnstone Olindi, Willy Ambaka, Billy Odhiambo, Oscar Dennis, Daniel Taabu, Bush Mwale, and Dan Sikuta.
