Published on December 9, 2019, Pastor Victor Kanyari, infamous for the 'panda mbegu' scandal, has resurfaced under a new name, Bishop Samwel Maina.

He is now the host of a radio show on Radio Jambo, where he reaches out to his audience with 30-minute broadcasts between 4:45 am and 5:10 am.

After being exposed in 2014 for deceit in his Salvation Healing Ministry, where he asked congregants to give a Sh310 offering, taken from the biblical verse in Malachi 3:10, Pastor Kanyari has downgraded his request to a Sh250 'seed offering' for powerful intercessory prayers.

His ministry, now based in Njiru, Nairobi, also operates a television station, Maajabu TV, which broadcasts sermons from his ministry.

Despite being pushed underground, Pastor Kanyari seems to be doing well, still driving a state-of-the-art Range Rover.

His congregants are offered sanctified handkerchiefs at a Sh1000 price, and water 'given as a gift' for Sh500, with prices reducing when business is bad.

As he preaches, Pastor Kanyari can be heard saying, 'If you made a pledge to come with the 1,000 and failed to do it, know that you are mocking God.'
