Published on December 9, 2019, a significant incident occurred in Mombasa, where three individuals, including a driver and his assistant, were arrested for transporting bhang using a PEFA church bus.
The bus, which had been hired to ferry mourners from Kilifi to Homa Bay, was impounded on the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway while heading back to Kilifi.
According to the OCPD, Bernastein Shali, the bus was carrying 230 rolls of bhang estimated to be worth Ksh.46,000. The bhang was found packed together with Omena.
