Published on December 9, 2019, Tanzanian singer Queen Darleen, who is signed to Diamond Platnumz's WCB label, has denied rumors that she was rushed into marriage due to pregnancy.
Queen Darleen, 34, tied the knot with her husband Isihaka Mtoro in a private Islamic wedding ceremony on the night of Sunday last week, with Diamond Platnumz absent.
According to sources, the ceremony was kept simple and low-key, unlike the usual fanfare associated with such events.
Several Tanzanian showbiz blogs had reported that Queen Darleen hastily married Isihaka after learning she was pregnant with her second child, in a bid to avoid embarrassment.
However, Queen Darleen has refuted these claims, stating, "Kuhusu ujauzito, hilo si kweli. Sina mimba. Nawashukuru kwa kunitakia kheri, ikitokea basi Inshallah," which translates to "Regarding pregnancy, that's not true. I'm not pregnant. Thank you for wishing me well, if it happens, God willing."
At the time of the wedding, Diamond Platnumz was out of the country for performance gigs.
Queen Darleen revealed that Diamond had initially wanted to postpone the wedding until his return, but she convinced his brother to give her his blessing and proceed with the wedding as planned.
The mother of one teenager daughter said she had been dating her husband for over a year before deciding to get married.
It's worth noting that Queen Darleen and Diamond Platnumz share a father, Abdul Naseeb.
