On Friday, Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was arrested, prompting a team of 12 high-profile legal advisors to come to his defense.
Leading the team is lawyer Cecil Miller, who is joined by notable figures such as Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Kipchumba Murkomen, Dan Maanzo-MP Makueni, George Kithi, Alphonse Mutinda, Osundwa Michael, Harrison Kinyanjui, and lawyer Nelson Havi.
According to reports, Sonko is facing charges related to a Sh357 million scandal, including money laundering and bribery. When he was arraigned before anti-corruption court magistrate Douglas Ogoti, Sonko pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges.
As the case unfolds, the team of 12 lawyers will work to defend Sonko against the corruption-related charges.
