On Friday, a six-storey building in Tassia Estate in Nairobi collapsed, claiming the lives of 10 people, with the latest death toll update coming on Sunday evening.
According to Embakasi OCPD David Apima, the three additional bodies retrieved from under the rubble include two children and a male adult.
One person was also rescued alive, bringing the number of survivors to 36, while about 10 people remain unaccounted for, according to the Kenya Red Cross.
Rescue efforts, led by a team from the Kenya Defense Forces, the National Disaster Management Unit, and the Kenya Red Cross, continue to drill through the rubble in search of the missing persons.
Assistant County Commissioner James Wanyoike expressed uncertainty about the duration of the operation, stating, 'We still don’t know how long this operation will take… We cannot say for sure.'
