Leicester City's Jamie Vardy scored two goals to help the team set a club record of eight successive top-flight wins in a 4-1 Premier League victory over Aston Villa on December 8, 2019.
The win, which came with a performance reminiscent of Leicester's memorable title run in 2015-16, left the Foxes second in the standings with 38 points from 16 games. Aston Villa, meanwhile, slipped to 17th with 15 points.
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers praised his team's performance, saying, "I thought they were amazing, it is a historical day for the club and the performance warranted that."
Leicester's Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans also scored in the win, which saw the team dominate the match and create several chances to win by a bigger margin.
"We scored all types of goals today and kept going to the end and tried to keep scoring goals," Rodgers added.
Leicester's Vardy opened the scoring in the 20th minute with his 15th goal of the season, before Iheanacho made it 2-0 with a deft finish from a James Maddison cross.
Jack Grealish pulled one back for Villa on the stroke of halftime, but Evans restored Leicester's two-goal advantage with a looping header shortly after the break.
Evans, who won three Premier League titles with Manchester United, was upbeat about Leicester's chances of finishing in the top four, saying, "We are up there and it shows we are playing well."
"Our performance was good. It is nice people are talking about us, we're enjoying it and there's great spirit in the club," he added.
