On Sunday, December 8, 2019, Kenya's Harambee Stars secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Tanzania in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, held in Uganda.
Hassan Abdalla, a young and promising player, scored his first international goal just four minutes into the match, giving Kenya a decisive lead.
Abdalla's goal was a result of a sublime pass from Kenneth Muguna, and he managed to outmaneuver the Tanzanian defenders to find the bottom left corner of the net.
The win propelled Kenya to the top position in Group 'B' of the regional football showpiece, collecting three points from the opening game.
Coach Francis Kimanzi praised the team's performance, saying, "I am looking at this result and saying it is the best because we managed to win against a good side while playing the best players in our local league some who have never played together."
Kenya will face Sudan at the same venue on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 4pm in a crucial match for the tournament's defending champions.
