Published on December 8, 2019, a Miami-based model has written a book to raise awareness about the risks of butt implants after experiencing the consequences firsthand.

Courtney Barnes, a 35-year-old model and Instagram star with nearly a million followers, got illegal butt injections at a party in 2006 when she was just 22 years old.

After several rounds of injections, Barnes' butt became discolored and sagged, prompting taunts and mean-spirited comments from her followers.

She revealed that she got the injections because a dancer told her she needed a bigger booty to make more money at a club where she worked.

Despite the risks, Barnes went for a fifth and sixth round of injections, spending around $7,000 to $8,000.

However, the injections have now caused Barnes' butt to be discolored and to sag, prompting her to seek medical attention.

Dr. Terry Dubrow told her that to fix her backside, he would have to amputate, leaving her stunned and refusing to undergo the procedure.

Barnes is now trying to get the filler removed and has written a memoir, I Am Not My Body, But I Wanted a Bigger Butt, to warn young women about the dangers of such procedures.
