Anthony Joshua reclaimed his world heavyweight titles in a unanimous points decision against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia on December 7, 2019.
Andy Ruiz Jr, the Mexican-American boxer, has called for a rematch against Anthony Joshua after his loss in Saudi Arabia.
"Who wants to see the third trilogy fight right here? In Saudi Arabia baby," Ruiz Jr called out to the crowd at the Diriyah arena.
Joshua had sounded receptive to the idea, saying "if you heard, we're going to do it a third," but his promoter Eddie Hearn was non-committal after the bout.
"The future plans are to celebrate, and to celebrate hard," Hearn said in a post-fight interview.
Joshua's next opponent is likely to be Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, who has a mandatory challenge against the WBO title before June 4, 2020.
"In 180 days? Lets rock and roll mate. Usyk? No problem," Joshua said in response.
The IBF's mandatory challenger is Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev, who had been scheduled to fight Joshua in 2017 before withdrawing with a shoulder injury.
