On December 6, 2019, the Public Service Commission (PSC) honored outstanding public servants at the 2019 Public Service Commission Excellence Award (PSEA). Makueni County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed was among the winners, receiving the award for serving citizens with dignity and courtesy.
Maalim Mohammed was recognized for his exemplary service, particularly for opening a beach access road in Mombasa during his tenure. He was one of 15 public servants feted at the event, which aimed to promote good governance and integrity in the public service.
Other winners included Police Constable Jairus Mulumia, who volunteered to teach mathematics to pupils of Forole Primary School, and several other public servants who demonstrated selfless leadership in service delivery.
Head of Public Service, Dr. Joseph Kinyua, congratulated the winners and called upon other public servants to emulate their good governance and integrity. PSC Chairman, Mr. Stephen Kirogo, also congratulated the winners and announced that their awards would be accompanied by a token of monetary appreciation.
