Manchester City's Premier League title hopes have taken a significant hit after Saturday's loss to Manchester United, coupled with Liverpool's win at Bournemouth.

According to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, it is 'not realistic' to think of catching Liverpool in the title race, but his side has a 'duty to continue'.

Guardiola emphasized the importance of focusing on the next game, stating, 'We think about what we have to do and the next game – it is not realistic to think about catching up.'

Even if Manchester City were to win all their remaining 22 games, they would still need Liverpool to experience a significant dip in form, which seems unlikely given the Reds' impressive record of 15 wins in 16 games this term.

Manchester City are now three points behind second-placed Leicester, having played a game more, and would need a remarkable turnaround to catch up with Liverpool.

Guardiola's comments come as Manchester City face a tough task in their bid to retain the Premier League title.
