On December 8, 2019, police in Murang'a County arrested a university student suspected of killing his girlfriend's three-year-old son and dumping the body near Murang'a Prison.
The suspect, Festus Maina Nyambura, is a third-year student of Criminology at the Murang'a University of Technology.
His girlfriend, a non-student who resides in the area, has also been arrested and is in police custody.
According to sources, the couple had been dating for a while, but the boy was reportedly unaware that his lover had a son from a previous relationship.
The couple is set to be arraigned at Murang'a Law Courts on Monday.
