On December 6, 2019, a terror attack in Wajir, Kenya, left 10 people dead, including 7 police officers and a doctor.
The attack occurred around 5:30 pm when gunmen ambushed a Mandera-bound bus between Kutulo and Wargadud area in Wajir County.
According to officials, the bus was carrying 56 passengers at the time of the incident.
Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara stated that the officers, who belonged to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU), were on their way back to work when the Medina bus was ambushed.
Four people managed to escape the attack with minor injuries, including three police officers and one civilian.
