Wendy Waeni's Ex-Manager Claims JKL Interview Led to Loss of KSh 100M International Award ¶
Joseph Mwangi, the former manager of gymnast Wendy Waeni, has made a shocking claim that the gymnast lost a KSh 100M international award due to an interview on Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Live.
According to Mwangi, the award was the World Child of the Year award, which Wendy won in March 2019. However, Mwangi claims that the award came with a condition that Wendy should not appear in any broadcast or publication between August 1st and December 7th.
Mwangi claims that he informed Wendy and her school administrators about the condition, but they went ahead and planned an interview with Jeff Koinange on August 1st. Mwangi claims that he reached out to Koinange and asked him not to host the interview, but Koinange never replied to his WhatsApp messages.
As a result, Mwangi claims that Wendy lost the award, which was worth KSh 100M. The incident led to a bitter end between Mwangi and Wendy, with Mwangi being arrested over allegations of having forged the signature of the then Education CS, Fred Matiangi.
Wendy is now under a new manager, and Mwangi's claims have sparked a lot of debate on social media.
