When it comes to dating and intimacy, there are several myths that have been perpetuated by films, books, and magazines. However, in reality, the behavior of men and women when meeting for the first time is often more complicated than expected.

One common myth is that women are much choosier than men when it comes to selecting a partner. However, research suggests that this is not entirely true. In fact, women are often just as interested in a man as he is in her, but they may be more hesitant to make the first move.

Another myth is that men are always eager for casual sex, while women are much more cautious. However, this is not necessarily the case. While it is true that many men are willing to engage in casual sex, women are often just as receptive to the idea, especially if they feel a connection with the man.

Research has also shown that women enjoy sex just as much as men in long-term committed relationships. In fact, women's pleasure often depends on having a partner who cares about how they feel.

Surveys that ask men and women about their preferences for the number of sexual partners they would like to have in their lifetime often show men averaging higher numbers than women. However, this is often due to a few highly promiscuous or boastful individuals inflating the results.

When it comes to the actual number of sexual partners men and women have, most surveys still suggest that men have more than women. However, if a poll is carefully worded to suggest that anyone who lies will be found out, the average number of lovers is often the same for men and women.

Finally, the idea that men think about sex every few seconds is not entirely true. While men do think about sex more than women, they also think about food and sleep much more frequently. This suggests that sex is not as important to men as other aspects of their lives.
