On December 8, 2019, Miguna Miguna expressed his disappointment with Nairobians for electing Mike Sonko as governor, saying they had ignored his warnings.

According to Miguna, Nairobians had collectively made a mistake by electing Sonko, who he described as a 'flop' and a 'thug' with no administrative skills.

Miguna stated that Sonko's election was a result of Nairobians being 'hoodwinked by cheap politics' and that they had 'dug their own graves' by voting for him.

He warned that Nairobians would suffer the consequences of their decision and that it would take them 'an eternity' to have the Nairobi they desire.

Miguna also criticized Nairobians for lacking the basic knowledge to interpret what affects them, saying it was the same syndrome that led them to elect Sonko as governor.

He advised Sonko to resign immediately and allow capable brains to take the lead of the city hall.

Miguna also decried the poor state of Nairobi as a county, saying it was immersed in filth and needed cleansing without delay.
