December 7, 2019, will be remembered as a day when Juventus' Serie A title hopes took a significant hit. The Italian champions suffered their first defeat under Maurizio Sarri as Lazio thumped them 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Cristiano Ronaldo put Juventus ahead in the 25th minute, but Lazio drew level at halftime through Luiz Felipe's goal. The hosts then took control of the game, with Sergej Milinkovic scoring a superb effort to put Lazio ahead.
Wojciech Szczęsny was in top form for Juventus, saving a penalty from Ciro Immobile, but it was not enough to inspire a comeback. Lazio sealed the win with a third goal at the death, courtesy of Felipe Caicedo's rebound after a quick counter-attack.
The result means Inter Milan will go into the next round of matches at the top of the table, with Juventus now in real danger of losing their title to Antonio Conte's men.
