On Tuesday night, a police officer met his untimely death in the Kibera slums, Nairobi, after being hit in the head with a pool table stick during a fight at a local bar.
According to eyewitnesses, the officer had been involved in a dispute with a bar attendant over a bottle of beer, which escalated into a physical altercation.
Despite being injured, the officer walked to his car, where he bled to death, as witnessed by a bystander who helped remove the body from the vehicle.
Police have since arrested two suspects in connection with the officer's killing and have been granted a week to complete their investigations.
On December 7, 2019, the two suspects were produced in court and the police were allowed to detain them for further questioning.
