On December 7, 2019, a Thika-bound bus caught fire near Githurai on the Thika Super Highway, causing significant disruption to traffic.
According to eyewitnesses, members of the public were seen at the scene with fire extinguishers trying to put out the fire.
The accident occurred on the overpass that serves as a major gateway to and from Githurai and exiting Nairobi.
Details on the passengers and crew inside the bus are yet to be determined.
Motorists have since been advised to use the service lane.
