On the fateful night of December 7, 2019, John Mutinda, a 46-year-old father of three, left his home in a hurry, allegedly after having a dream about his late father. His wife, Ruth Mueni, has come forward to share her account of the events leading up to the tragic accident that claimed his life.
According to Mueni, her husband had told her that he had a dream in which his late father directed him to drive to Mombasa city's central business district (CBD) where they would meet. Despite her pleas to hold prayers and her attempts to hide his car keys, Mutinda searched for the keys at around 4am and drove out in high speed.
Corroborating Mueni's statement, Mutinda's relative, Benedict Sila, revealed that the 46-year-old left his home hurriedly a few minutes to 4am after being 'called' by his late father.
Mueni has denied any conflict with her husband that could have led to his death, stating that she was not aware of any issues that would have prompted him to take such a drastic action.
