On Saturday, a tragic incident occurred at the Likoni Ferry Channel in Kenya, where a man's car plunged into the Indian Ocean.
According to eyewitnesses, the man, identified as John Mutinda, was driving at a high speed towards Mombasa Island from the Kwale side when he ignored calls from ramp controllers to stop.
As a result, Mutinda's car drove straight into the Indian Ocean, where it sank to a depth of 6 meters.
Kenya Navy divers quickly responded to the scene and retrieved the body of Mutinda, which was then taken to the Coast General Referral Hospital morgue.
The mangled wreck of the vehicle was towed to the Likoni Police Station for further investigation.
This incident comes just three months after a similar tragedy occurred, where a car plunged into the Indian Ocean, killing Mariam Kigenda and her daughter Amanda.
