Kenya Navy Divers Retrieve Body of Man Whose Car Plunged into Indian Ocean

On Saturday, December 7, 2019, a tragic incident occurred at the Likoni Ferry channel in Kenya when a car plunged into the Indian Ocean. The driver, whose identity has not been revealed, allegedly drove off the ramps with high speed at 4:20am after ignoring pleas to stop.

According to the Kenya Ferry Services, the registration of the vehicle was not established. In a statement, KFS said, "It is with sadness that we would like to confirm that at around 4.20am on the mainland side of the channel, a motorist driving a saloon car whose registration number plate has not yet been established right away after purchasing ticket drove off to the ramps with high speed to the ocean even after being flagged by our ramp controllers to slow down and stop."

Kenya Navy divers were able to retrieve the body of the victim, bringing closure to the family and the community. Kenyans on social media condoled with the family of the victim, expressing their condolences.
