On December 6, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko found himself in a heated confrontation with police officers at Ikanga airstrip in Voi.

After being arrested and taken to Voi Police Station, Sonko was led to the airstrip, where he was expected to board a police chopper.

However, Sonko refused to cooperate, and a scuffle ensued as officers tried to get him to board the chopper.

A video captured the dramatic scene, showing police surrounding Sonko and attempting to cuff him.

Despite their efforts, Sonko resisted and shoved the officers off, prompting a heated exchange between the two parties.

At one point, Sonko almost got into a physical altercation with one of the officers before his colleagues intervened.

After two minutes and 32 seconds of chaos, Sonko was finally led away in handcuffs towards the awaiting chopper.

"I'm not boarding!" Sonko exclaimed, as seen in the video shared by @citizentvkenya on Twitter.
