Chelsea's transfer ban has been reduced by half, giving the club a chance to strengthen their squad in January.
On February 6, FIFA imposed a two-window transfer ban on Chelsea after finding the club guilty of breaching regulations on player transfers, specifically regarding the signing of U18 players and third-party influence.
Chelsea's first appeal against the sanction was rejected by FIFA's appeal committee in April, with the committee criticizing the club for 'inexcusable' breaches of the regulations.
However, the club made a further appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which accepted submissions from both Chelsea and FIFA.
Despite the reduced ban, Chelsea was still able to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid for Sh5.3 billion in August, thanks to a loophole in FIFA's regulations that allowed the transfer since Chelsea already held his registration after a season-long loan.
Under new head coach Frank Lampard, Chelsea has started the season well, sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table after 15 games.
Chelsea's fine has also been halved from Sh61.4 million to Sh30.7 million.
