Nairobi Police Officers Accused of Robbing Man KSh 20,000 After False Arrest

On December 5, 2019, a man attending a graduation ceremony at the Kenya Medical Training College in Nairobi was falsely arrested by three police officers who claimed to be on duty.

According to reports, the officers demanded KSh 30,000 from the man, but he claimed to only have KSh 20,000, which he handed over before being released.

However, the officers allegedly took the money and left the man with nothing.

Witnesses reported that the officers were later identified and apprehended by other police officers who were patrolling the area.

The officers were found to be in possession of two phones, KSh 50,140 in cash, a police radio, and a pingo.

They have been accused of robbery and false arrest, and are currently facing charges.
