Laikipia University has honored Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge with a degree of science, further solidifying his status as a global athletics icon.
On Friday, Kipchoge received the honorary degree, which is a testament to his remarkable achievements in the world of athletics.
Just a week ago, Kipchoge made headlines after being invited to the launch of the 2020 Beyond Zero Half Marathon in Nairobi by the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta.
During the event, Kipchoge and his wife, Grace Sugutt, took the First Lady through a morning exercise routine around the lush State House on a rainy morning.
Speaking to Reuters, Kipchoge revealed his plans to defend his Olympic title in Tokyo next year, if selected.
It is highly likely that Kipchoge will be given the chance to run next August, considering the selection procedures in Kenyan athletics.
