On December 6, 2019, a devastating incident occurred on the Emali-Ukia road in Makueni County, Kenya, where a bus carrying 40 university students, four lecturers, a driver, and a conductor was swept away by floods.

The bus, which was traveling from Mombasa to Nairobi, encountered a traffic jam on the Mombasa road before the accident occurred.

Fortunately, all 46 people on board were rescued safely, according to Kamanda wa Polisi kaunti ya Makueni Joseph Napeiyan.

However, the incident remains a concern, as the road is still affected by the floods.
