Published on December 6, 2019, a sharp criticism has been directed at the self-declared TangaTanga team allied to Deputy President William Ruto for their double speak.

The team initially took a firm stand against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), stating that they would not allow a change in the constitution. However, they are now supporting the initiative.

Netizens are questioning how and when the team realized that the change was in tandem with their interests.

Deputy President William Ruto was quoted as saying that the team behind the BBI was sitting in bedrooms and offices, changing the constitution without considering the views of ordinary Kenyans.

He also cited the Ekuru Aukot-led Punguza Mzigo initiative, stating that it was no longer possible to change the constitution.

DP Ruto's allies, including Governor Mandago and Gladys Shollei, have also expressed their opposition to the BBI, claiming that the team did not take views from 27 counties.

However, the team's sudden change of heart has left many netizens surprised and questioning their motives.

Here are some of the remarks from furious netizens:

They are always focused on confusing Kenyans. They oppose everything only to turn back and support the same later. #TangatangaDoubleSpeak — Private Investigator (@Private10211348) December 6, 2019
