On December 6, 2019, a devastating incident occurred in Tassia Estate, Embakassi East, Nairobi County, when a 6-storey building suddenly collapsed.
At around 9 am, the building came crashing down, prompting both locals and county authorities to launch rescue operations.
Fortunately, a number of people were evacuated alive and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the collapse was attributed to poor construction, which has raised concerns about the safety of buildings in the area.
