The Big Deal reggae and dancehall concert, initially planned for the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), has been relocated to Impala Grounds, Ngong Road.
The concert, which will feature top reggae and dancehall artistes Chris Martin, D Major, and Future Fambo, has attracted a large following, prompting concerns about security and crowd management.
According to the event organizers, the change of venue will not affect the overall experience for fans, who can still expect a full day of music, food, and lifestyle activities.
“Following the unpredictable weather and rains that have rocked the city, we have decided to change the venue to Impala Grounds. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and promise the fans a great experience featuring the best of international and local music, food and lifestyle – #NobodyCanStopReggae,” the event organizers said in a statement.
The concert is a collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sports of Jamaica and the Government of Kenya, aimed at enhancing cultural links between the two countries.
Kenyan superstars such as Bensoul, Elani, Masauti, KRG the Don, Havoc, and Jfam will also perform alongside the Jamaican trio.
Tickets are available on www.mtickets.com at Ksh 1,500 advance and Ksh2,000 at the gate for regular tickets, while VIP Advance tickets are Ksh 5,000 and Ksh7,000 at the gate.
