David Kyalo, founder of Koncepts and Events Limited, has achieved a milestone by making it to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2019. This recognition is a testament to his hard work and determination as an entrepreneur.
David's entrepreneurial journey began in 2014, after he failed to secure a job. He drew inspiration from his experience as a student leader in charge of events and communication at Moi University. He pitched his business idea to a former classmate, who agreed to join him in building the company from the ground up.
However, starting the business was not without its challenges. David was unemployed and financially handicapped, with only Sh1,500 to invest in the business. He relied on donations from family and friends, as well as advance payments from supportive clients, to raise capital and establish the business.
Despite the challenges, David persevered and eventually established a successful business. He has since partnered with renowned organizations such as the World Bank and Uber. In 2016, he was listed in the Business Daily's Top 40 under 40 men, alongside other notable entrepreneurs.
David's journey to entrepreneurial success was not without its setbacks. He has faced challenges with suppliers and clients, and has struggled with self-doubt and fear of the unknown. However, he has learned valuable lessons about life and business, including the importance of patience and perseverance.
David plans to expand his business and venture into all East African countries within the next five years. He also plans to host a series of career expos and entrepreneurship conferences to mentor and empower young entrepreneurs.
David's story serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, highlighting the importance of taking risks and persevering in the face of challenges.
