On December 6, 2019, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and leading betting firm Odibets signed a Sh127 million deal aimed at nurturing local football talent at the grassroots level.

The three-year partnership will see all FKF County Leagues renamed Odibets County Leagues, starting this season.

Odibets will provide participating clubs with six balls and playing kits to support the growth of the sport.

According to Odibets General Manager Dedan Mungai, the partnership aligns with the company's vision of developing untapped talent from the 'mtaani' to national and international levels.

"We believe this partnership will strengthen the grassroots leagues and provide thousands of Kenyan youth with opportunities to showcase their talent and build a career in football," Mungai said.

He added that the partnership will help harness and foster the immense potential of the grassroots county leagues.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa welcomed the partnership, stating that they were eager to nurture local talent in the country.

"As a federation, we welcome this first-of-its-kind partnership. We are happy to partner with Odibets to support grassroots talent in the counties," Mwendwa said.
