On December 5, 2019, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) made a significant move in the world of Kenyan football by signing a Sh127 million deal with Odibets, a leading betting firm.
The three-year partnership aims to grow local football talent at the grassroots level, with Odibets providing support to FKF county leagues.
As part of the deal, all clubs participating in the leagues will receive six balls and playing kits from Odibets.
According to Dedan Mungai, Odibets General Manager, the partnership is in line with the company's vision of growing untapped talent from the streets to national and international levels.
"We strongly believe that our partnership with FKF will further strengthen the grassroots leagues and offer thousands of Kenyan youth an opportunity to showcase their talent and create a career out of playing football," Mungai stated.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa welcomed the partnership, expressing the federation's commitment to nurturing local talent in the country.
"As a federation, we welcome this first-of-its-kind partnership. We are happy to partner with Odibets to support grassroots talent in the counties," Mwendwa mentioned.
