Kenya Sevens, led by coach Paul Feeney, kicked off their Dubai Sevens campaign with a narrow 17-12 loss to reigning champions South Africa at the The Sevens Stadium on December 5, 2019.
Despite a strong recovery from a poor start, Shujaa ultimately fell short, with South Africa's second-half surge proving decisive.
On the same day, England secured a 36-7 victory over Spain in their pool match.
Shujaa will look to bounce back in their next matches, facing England at 12.26pm and Spain at 6.32pm on Friday.
Key moments in the match included tries from Alvin Otieno and Vincent Onyala, which helped Shujaa take a 12-5 lead at halftime. However, South Africa's Rosko Specman and Seabelo Senatla scored crucial tries in the second half to seal the win for the Blitzboks.
