Published on December 5, 2019, MP Moses Kuria has sparked controversy by directing blame at opposition leader Raila Odinga for the death of Baby Pendo and other post-election victims.

According to Kuria, Raila's actions after the 2017 election led to the death of the infant and he should be held accountable for the treacherous murder.

The Gatundu South lawmaker pointed out that Odinga's refusal to concede defeat and his failure to participate in the repeat election gave way to uncontrollable violence that resulted in the infant's death.

Kuria blamed Odinga for the merciless killing of the girl by police officers, stating that had it not been for his political egocentrism, the girl would be alive today with her mother.

He expressed his disappointment in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, saying it failed to address the pertinent issues that have bedeviled Kenya and instead recommended avenues beneficial to a handful of individuals.

The lawmaker faulted Raila for being ready and prepared for war and chaos, adding that many people have lost their lives and property due to his inability to concede defeat.
