Patrick Vieira, a former Arsenal midfielder, has emerged as the leading candidate to take over as manager of the Gunners, following the sacking of Unai Emery.
According to reports, Vieira, who currently manages French Ligue 1 side Nice, has impressed the club's hierarchy with his managerial skills, particularly his ability to lead the team to a seventh-place finish in the 2018-19 season.
As a player, Vieira was part of the Invincibles team that went unbeaten in the Premier League in the 2003-04 season, alongside caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg.
However, Ljungberg has made it clear that he is not interested in taking over as the permanent manager, and the club is now looking for a new candidate to lead them to success.
Other candidates linked with the job include Mikel Arteta, Nuno Espirit Santo, Brendan Rodgers, and Mauricio Pochettino, but Vieira is reportedly the top choice.
Despite their struggles, Arsenal are still a major force in English football, and the club is expected to make a significant investment in their new manager to ensure they return to their former glory.
