On December 5, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the Supplementary Appropriation Bill (No. 2) of 2019 into law, paving the way for the release of Sh73.4 billion to fund various government services and projects for the period ending June 30, 2020.
The Bill, presented to the President for signing by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, was passed by Parliament on Wednesday. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Acting National Treasury CS Ukur Yatani, Attorney General Paul Kihara, National Assembly Clerk Michael Sialai, and State House Deputy Chief of Staff Njee Muturi.
With the signing of the Bill, the government can now proceed with the release of the Sh73.4 billion, which will be used to fund various projects and services.
