On December 5, 2019, a photo of Kenyan footballer Tony Nyangor lying on a bed surrounded by new Sh1000 banknotes went viral on social media.
The image, which has sparked mixed reactions, shows Nyangor, also known as 'Balotieno', with the cash scattered on his chest and a white bedsheet.
Despite his off-pitch success, Nyangor's football career has been struggling. He currently plays for Mufulira Wanderers in the Zambian top flight league and has yet to score a goal this season.
His struggles on the pitch are a stark contrast to his fortunes off it, as seen in the photo.
