Beijing Renhe FC, the Kenyan forward Ayub Timbe's club, has suffered a disappointing end to the Chinese Super League season, being relegated after finishing last on the 16-team table.

According to the league standings, Renhe garnered 14 points from 30 matches, failing to win either of their last five matches.

On his social media page, Timbe reflected on the season, saying, “Season (is) done, lots of ups and downs. But what is done is done. Moved on and looking forward to a better new season.”

Timbe, 27, has struggled with injuries and suspensions over the past two seasons, missing more matches than he has played for club and country.

Despite being half-fit, Timbe played in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but was stretchered off against Egypt in the opening match of Kenya's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match in Alexandria.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou Evergrande, managed by former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro, won the Chinese league, with Beijing Guoan finishing second.
