On December 5, 2019, Odibets, a leading betting firm, signed a Sh 127 million deal with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to support local football talent at the grassroot level.
The three-year partnership will see all FKF county leagues renamed Odibets County leagues, with the betting firm providing participating clubs with six balls and playing kits.
Odibets General Manager Dedan Mungai emphasized the company's vision of growing untapped talent from the grassroots to national and international levels.
“We hope to harness and foster the immense untapped potential that our grass-root county leagues have,” Mungai stated.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa welcomed the partnership, stating that the federation was looking forward to nurturing local talent in the country.
“We are happy to partner with Odibets to support grass root talent in the counties. Kenya has untapped potential, and we look forward to this opportunity and working closely with our partners to grow local teams,” Mwendwa mentioned.
